Telangana,(R.Santosh:Minister Jagadish Reddy, State Energy Department Special Secretary Ajay Mishra, Transco & Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao, TSSPCDL CM Raghuma Reddy and others participated in the seminar at the National Conference on Electricity Amendment.

State Electricity Minister Jagadish Reddy has ruled that the amendment of the Electricity Act is a violation of the rights of states.

He alleged that the Center was conspiring to privatize the Emergency Service.

He demanded a reduction of 1 per cent on loans to disks that are in financial trouble with covid.

He advised the Center to reduce interest rates by one percentage point to 8.5% rather than 9.5%.

He participated in a national conference on the drafting of the Electricity Amendment through the National Power Minister’s video conference.

In this video conference from Vidyut Soudha, he proposed to reduce the interest on loans to the central disk.

Speaking to media afterwards, he said that the power law amendment law to be introduced by the central government is like an for Telangana farmers.

He recalled that the Chief Minister had already written a letter to the Center on drafting the KCR power law.

The bill would not benefit consumers and would put home consumers at risk of losing subsidies.

Minister Jagadish Reddy said he opposed the bill, which focuses on all subsidized groups.

It is unfortunate that not a single line of the bill has been changed, although the rest of the country has opposed the bill.

He was quoted as saying that states like Punjab, Rajasthan and Kerala also oppose the bill.

He alleged that the Center was taking control of the state’s rights in the power sector and was introducing it into the hands of private investors.

States have said that they have made changes in the terms of the appointment of the IRC but they have not done so

He also announced that the second unit of the Bhadradri power plant, 270 Megawatts, is connected to the same.

Minister Jagdish Reddy said that production has started from today.

Unfortunately some cases have been delayed due to litigation in the courts.

He said the third unit would also be started soon.

He added that Bhadradri is going to start generating 1080 megawatts of power in its entirety.
